And now, finally, big news!

I'm engaged! How exciting is that? Of course, what makes it less exciting is that it's was such a spur of the moment thing that I don't have a ring or anything that makes it look as though there is anything different about me. Although, my boss gave me a nice bouquet of flowers to say congratulations. We are in the stages of planning aforementioned ring, which will be of obsidian and greenstone but given that we have no money at the moment, I'm not sure when or if this ring will eventuate. And yes, this will be a long engagement... long and aimless... kind of like this post, really. Otherwise, nothing going. The weather has improved. Today I had coffee at a cafe that was so packed I had to share a table with two other people. Later while eavesdropping on their conversation I gathered that they were hospitality people... THERE IS NO ESCAPE. There is only about six weeks until we leave Adelaide. We've worked out that if we do long drives we can leave SA in about two days. But given old Anonymous Voice of Doom in the last set of comments it seems that the likelihood of improvement is slim to none. With the exception, hopefully, of Margaret River. All the backpackers we've met have treated this place like the Holy Grail, and my New Friend Freya originates from the place and raves about it. Although, she's running away from WA... so... Also, we don't surf. At least its not Adelaide, right?

  1. Congratulations Sarah and Andy. That's wonderful, happy news.

Engagement ring? Engagement is all in the heart. I hope you enjoy your long, rambling engagement, and have an even longer, lonnnnng marriage forever.

Leaving Adelaide? :-( I hope you continue to blog wherever you are.

  2. Congratulations to you both!!

I share guyana-gyal's opinion. I never had an engagement ring (we skipped that aimless "step") and got married right away. Marriage IS an engagement: to love each other a bit more everyday... =)

  3. Margaret River's nice for a visit. Plenty of things to see and do. Lots of gourmet food and wine. And tourists.

In WA the rest of the country is referred to as "the east coast" which presumably completely ignores SA anyway.

  4. I'd ignore SA if I had the choice.
