The Moon Last Night

Last night, after watching Age Pryor at the Botanical Gardens, I invited Nat and Mark around for tea... we sat on the bench at the back of my house and looked out over the harbour and toward Wainuiomata.

Nat asked what the red glow was on the horizon.

Mark said it was the great Wiccan bonfire of the Hutt.

About a minute later, we watched the moon begin to rise, fast and full, orange-yellow and HUGE... while it was coming up behind the hill and we couldn't work out what it was, we speculated on Martian landings or Hutt-based nuclear holocausts.

I was cleaning out the fruit bowl this morning and found a very perished half lemon. Running water on the green powdery mould caused it to puff up in a cloud. This was basically quite disgusting, but was also very pretty... a drifting smoke of spores in my kitchen. I hope it's a penicillin mould... (I should add that there was no uncovered food about).

Coffee with Bryna just before, she looks as though she's ready to POP! Can't wait to see her baby... Apparently her friend's husband had a dream about babies, and decided that this can only mean that she's going to give birth... tonight! Gosh, I hope so.
