More Nausea in the Library

Very twitchy, anxious restless today. In the Dominion Post social pages: Taylor the Corgi's fifth birthday. He won Dog of the Year 2006/7. I sat down to watch Sir Ed's funeral for about five minutes and was filmed by some tv station, I think, watching tv (strangely referential, that). There was four of us, they asked us to sit still while they were filming, and the moment they announced they were done we all stood up and buggered off. So fake and posed and stuff. Bizarre. Hillary's death is a media free-for-all, difficult not to be cynical under the circumstances, and this despite the fact that I recognise the contribution of his achievements to the construction of the New Zealand National psyche. Aunty Helen is very sad.
