politics and religion. Anaïs Nin rarely talks about politics in her diary and she lived through the Second World War, lead up and all. When she does talk about politics its in reference to whichever man she is crushing/screwing/"wildly passionate about" at that time.
Early Feminists loved Anaïs Nin. Until they met her in the flesh and saw the amount of plastic surgery she'd had. For Anaïs, beauty and youth were wildly important. Politics were something dreadfully un-feminine making, tra la la, I must write some erotica now &c.
So, attempting to be as fabulous as Anaïs Nin is my excuse for having as little opinion as possible about the elections this year. Its just not ladylike to talk or think about such things. I must powder my nose now. And goddamn it, when I'm not wearing a mini skirt and beating up other girls on skates I like to pretend to be a lady.
Also, and perhaps more to the point, I can't think who on Earth to vote for. It will defo be a Lesser Of Evils Situation. Choosing who to vote to using the elimination method has lead me to - having yum char on the morning of the Elections. Less Decision 08 and more Dumpling 08.
Mmm, dumpling. Roast duck. Porky things. Now dahlings, THAT is a ladylike conversation.
