Dudes, I am saving and I am poor. Here are some things that I do of a lunch time when I'm attempting not to visit shops or buy heaps of expensive food.
1. Make exotic toasted sandwiches with anything available. Chocolate and banana is always pretty good, as is garlicky cheese and salami.

Katherine's toasted sandwiches of awesome nastiness. |
2. Take $4 to a cafe, drink a coffee and read a book. An hour of hiding from office people and suspending disbelief is like HEAVEN. I then go back to the office and eat a sandwich while I'm working.
3. Jump on my bike and go for a ride in the sun. The Waterfront is always lovely, and if I have a few dollars I swing by the gelato place. Apple gelato is awesome.
4. Failing that, I like to take a lovely long walk and listen to an audiobook, them maybe sit on a park bench and close my eyes and feel the sunshine soaking in. Vitamin D rules.
5. Write a blog entry or catch up on my reader. If you do this, I strongly recommend you make it clear that you're on a break though. Haven't found an awesome way just yet, maybe a flashing headband?
Any more suggestions for my broke-ass self?
