Auckland Hotel Room

I'm drinking mini-bar beer and about to order room service. I'm not out for dinner with the others because I'm super extra stupid tired and feeling a little run down - going to curl up in bed and read Katherine Mansfield stories until my eyes pop out, and maybe begin to draft various bits and pieces for proposals...

Flight was tolerable, involved a decent bran muffin and getting stuck in a centre seat and busting to pee but not being able to climb over the huge business man beside me. In fact, the urge to urinate has been my theme for the day... That and severe exhaustion. How I managed to get so little sleep this weekend I don't know.

Auckland Archives: for an institute that's supposed to protect New Zealand history they seem to be very lax about things like, mice getting into the Archives and running around the building and potentially nibbling the Heritage. Nothing quite like the taste of Heritage, I find. Also, one of my colleagues (tra la la, I have colleagues) found a cricket in one of the files she'd ordered, from the "secure temperature controlled storage". I wonder what wildlife we will see tomorrow.

Just ate a Caesar salad and forgot to ask for no anchovies. Bleh. But manageable. And the dinner rolls I ordered were very nice and herby.

Shower now and bed soon methinks. I know I sound like a dreadful geek (not even 7 o'clock yet), but if I don't sleep soon I might just collapse, dramatically, and with a pronounced swoon.
