So, despite the confusing weather patterns of Easter weekend (was in Tauranga: very hot!), I am beginning to feel winter. Which brings me to my first Wednesday list of the winter season.
Many things to look forward to!
- Soups - steaming hot, with excellent stock, lots of veges and lentils and beans and slow cooked pieces of beef. Can you say Nom?
- Boots and tights and skirts - which are obviously the most stylish things to wear.
- Wearing my bright red vintage winter coat with beavers on the pockets - because it's impossible to be unhappy in a bright red vintage winter coat with beavers on the pockets. Did I mention that it has an amazing fake fur-trimmed hood and is "inspired by the Eskimos of Canada"? Love.
- Knitting and knitting and knitting in the evenings - it's difficult to get excited about knitting when the weather is good. But I can feel The Urge coming upon me. Also, I have $100 to spend at Holland Street Yarn Company and it's burning a hole in my top drawer. What to knit next, what to knit next?
- Hot water bottles - snuggly. I like to lie as the Little Spoon, while the hot water bottle is big-spooned by me. And then the second hot water bottle lies down by my feet and I curl my toes around it until it burns me. Nothing like the rubber burns of winter!
- Lying in bed and listening to the weather - at our new house, the wind whips through the over head power lines outside which will add a whole new dimension to the "hiding from the horrible storm" feelings.
- Snow again? - last year the surprising snow was beautiful; walking around in it was the highlight of my whole winter. Snow is gorgeous!
Lay it on me sisters and brothers. Other things to look forward to?
(And yes I am ignoring my blogging absence x).
