So you may or may not be surprised to find out that I've been quite quite flat lately. This is mostly because I am NOT enjoying my job or the travel and because money bites big time (you can email me if you wish to donate!)*. Also, not being able to skate as much as I want to due to injury is a real downer - I really want to compete in the next bout, so I REALLY want to be physically fit and strong so I can skate to the best of my abilities. And my own body is working against me! At the moment I'm using all my super powers to will my ribs to heal completely. Must. Get. Stronger. Faster. Fitter. Better.
Newly discover craft blogs are making me happy though; Lee Meredith is basically the coolest thin gs since sliced bread and has made me a leetle obsessed with the prospect of spinning my own knitting wool. Handmade by Mother has kept me very entertained this evening and I now fully intend to make the hideous poodle tea cosy (if I ever finish Tom's mustachioed balaclava. Gag). Girls With Slingshots is funny but not a craft blog. I just like it lots and I wanted to put it here because it's my fave at the moment.
Also, I've unsubscribed to a bunch of blogs that were relentlessly negative in their output to a degree that seemed poisonous to the extreme. When I write that I don't mean that I'm a positivity-obsessed sort, merely that there's a difference between wit and puerile anger disguised by lucidity. I gave up on Hipster Run Off a looooooong time ago, shortly before I'd seen the comments via *this item* on Fluro. And there are others too, but I'm bored by the prospect of naming them. (Urgh, now I'm hoping that angry blog posts weren't my forte. How embarrassing would THAT be - exposed as a blogging hypocrite *swoon*).
Bed now.
In other news, here is a photo of me cutting pie at the Roller Derby dinner. Hooray, pie! (I'm pulling a very concentrating pie-cutting-face, in case you're interested. Kinda glad the Poladroid cut it off. Gooooooooood Poladroid. Goooood).
*All donations gratefully accepted! I have a GST number too so your donation will be tax deductible. It's a good thing I got that after all. xxGinger
You absolutely have to make the poodle! With a finger-stache! And then send me photos!
ReplyDeleteBTW, I completely understand what you mean about the distinction between teasing affection and negativity. I adore the Comics Curmudgeon and Cake Wrecks. But there are other popular blogs that make me feel like I'm a bad person for laughing. I tend not to go back to them.
Thank you very much for pim... er, I mean promoting! my blog.
Belatedly I reply: I'm always happy to promote such high quality crafting. Must start the poodles.
ReplyDeleteYay! Poodles!
